Sunshine -- for Star Stampz Challenge Blog

It's time for a new challenge at Star Stampz Challenge Blog.  For the next 2 weeks, the theme is, "Flowers, Flowers, Flowers."  Ah, now if it were only warm enough for them where I live!

I used a delightful Star Stampz image to create this:

This is Sunday Best colored with Copic markers.

I used a variety of dies to create this card.  They are from Craftin' Desert Divas, Paper Wishes, Lawn Fawn, and Die-namics.  Papers are all digital, and were taken from my stash.  The flowers are also from my stash -- really old!

I hope you can join us this next 2 weeks are Star Stampz for our Flowers, Flowers, Flowers challenge.  I'd love to see what you create!

I'd like to enter this in the following challenges:

Enjoy the Moment -- for Julia Spiri Challenge Blog

It's time for a new challenge at Julia Spiri Challenge Blog.   Our challenges are always Anything Goes with a twist.  This times twist is -- 'Film, Book, or Song'.

I used the Julia Spiri image, The Victorian Hat, and used it to create this:

I read Emma, by Jane Austen, many years ago, but The Victorian Hat reminds me of the book.  I loved reading Jane Austen books!

I colored The Victorian Hat with Copic markers.  The sentiment is from an old stamp set from a company that has gone out of business, but seemed to fit the image and the challenge theme.  Papers are all digital, from my scrap pile.  Dies are from Craftin' Desert Divas. Bling is from my stash.

I hope you can join us this next 2 weeks for our Anything Goes with a twist -- book, film, song challenge at the Julia Spiri Challenge blog.  I'd love to see what you make!  Check out the Stamps by Julia Spiri Facebook group, too, for even more inspiration and news.

Miss You -- for Oddball Art Stamps

It's time for a little mid-challenge inspiration at Oddball Stamps Challenge Blog.  We have a month-long challenge going on right now with the fun theme of Watchin' Rainbows.  It goes until March 14, so there's still plenty of time to join in.

Here's what I made for the challenge, using an Oddball Art Stamp Company digi.

This is image #110, Hadley and her Pet Cloud, colored with Copic markers.  I can relate to little Miss Hadley.   Some days I feel like I have my own pet cloud over my head!

I cut the rainbow out on my Silhouette Cameo with a file from the Silhouette Design Store. It's all mounted on a Kraft card base. CAS.

I hope this inspires you to join in on our 'Watchin' Rainbows' challenge presently going on at Oddball Stamps Challenge Blog

Dewdrop - Raincatcher -- Showcase at Coloring Without Boundaries

It's time for another showcase of the Coloring Without Boundaries Design Team.  Of course, we are showcasing Lacy Sunshine images by the uber talented Heather Valentin.

For today's showcase, I'm featuring Dewdrop - Raincatcher...

Here's how I colored Dewdrop - Raincatcher.

I always start with skin.  For this image, I wanted everything to be soft and spring-like so I went with real light skin tones.  I used:
E000, E01, E11, E04, R20 (for blush), BV000, BV01.  The BV's are for cast shadows.
Eyes -- BG000, B12, B14

Hair -- I chose blonde for the same reason I went with light skin tones.  I wanted very light spring like colors for this image.  Hair colors are:
Y00, Y21, Y13

Next, the big flower that's doubling as her umbrella.  Colors used are:
Petals -- RV10, RV52, RV63, RV55, RV66

Here, I add the center, dewdrops, and the remaining flowers...
Flower center colors -- Y00, Y06
Dewdrops -- BG10, BG01

All that's left now is the stems and leaves, and her dress.
Stems and leaves -- YG03, G40, G43, G46

Dress -- BG11, BG32, BG45, BG49
Flowers on dress -- RV52, RV55

Here's Dewdrop - Raincatcher, made into a card...

I used a cutting file from Pretty Paper Pretty Ribbons and cut it out on my Silhouette Cameo.  The papers are from Echo Park Springtime.  The crinkle ribbon is from 3 Girl JAM. I used a Spellbinders die to cut out the image.

I hope you check out the showcase at Coloring Without Boundaries.  There's also a challenge, with a number of categories. Projects don't need to be finished.  They can just be colored pieces, if you prefer to enter that way.  Check out the Coloring Without Boundaries Facebook Group, too, and the Lacy Sunshine Color N Craft Community

Happy Easter, Happy Spring!

It's Saturday, the day before Easter.  It's a cool, rainy afternoon and I decided to make a couple tags to enter some challenges.  I am always charmed with Gerda Steiner images.  I used 2 of them for these tags:

The 2 Gerda Steiner images I used were Nerdy but Nice on the first tag and Bunny with Carrot on the second tag.  Both digis were colored with Copic markers.

Papers for these tags are digital.  They are found at Snap Click Supply and are Lori Whitlock's Easter Friends papers.

I used some goodies I won in a challenge from Eyelet Outlet.   I used Pastel Rabbit Brads and 12 MM white/black jewels.

Dies for these tags are from Craftin' Desert Divas and Paper Wishes.  Sentiments are from My Pink Stamper.  Fibers are from Close To My Heart.

I had a great time making these tags, being creative on a rainy afternoon.  Now, to make some supper!

I'd like to enter these in the following challenges:

With Sympathy -- for Great Impressions Stamps

Hello, and happy Saturday!  Great Impressions Stamps is sponsoring the CRAFT Challenge blog this week.  The theme is "Add some bling".  As part of sponsoring them, each of the DT members at Great Impressions Stamps has made a project to join in the challenge.

Since Spring is very slowly making it's way into northern Wisconsin, I was inspired to work with this delightful tulip stamp, to create this:

I used H251 Tall Tulips and colored it with Copic markers.  The sentiment stamp is B206 With Sympathy.  I blinged the card up with rhinestone accents from Close To My Heart.

Come join our Bunny Hop challenge going on all month at the Great Impressions Stamps blog, and do your shopping for many wonderful rubber stamps at the Great Impressions Store.

Love -- for Coloring Without Boundaries

It's Wednesday, and I have the honor of posting today for Coloring Without Boundaries, using a Lacy Sunshine image by the very talented Heather Valentin.

Here's the adorable Daffe Dil Flower Pot Pretty:

Here's a step-by-step of how I colored Daffe Dil Flower Pot Pretty --

I always start with skin, then hair.

There isn't a lot of skin here, and I wanted her to be pale, so these are the colors I used for it:
E000, E01, E31, R20  Lips -- R21, R22   Eyebrow -- E11, E13
Eyes -- V12, V04, V06, V17
Hair -- RV21, RV23, RV25, RV29

Daffodils -- Y11, Y15, Y17, E15, E18

Leaves -- YG03, YG63, YG67, G99

All that's left is the pot.  Here's the colors --
Pot Base -- BV11, BV01, BV00, BV000
Top of pot -- BV11, BV13, BV17
Dots on pot, Y23, Y26, Y28

Here's Daffe Dil Flower Pot Pretty, made into a card.

I used several sizes of a Spellbinders label die to create this card.  Papers are from Echo Park Papers Springtime 12x12 collection.  The shimmer trim and sentiment are from Close To My Heart.  The crinkle ribbon is by 3 Girl JAM.

Check out the Coloring Without Boundaries blog for wonderful tips and tutorials.  There's also a challenge you can enter with either colored pieces or finished projects. Check out the Coloring Without Boundaries Facebook group, too, for more inspiration, tips, and fun.

You Were Born To Be Real -- For The East Wind

It's Tuesday, and that means there's a New Release today at The East Wind.   Today's New Release is called, Lucy Loo 'Bobbed'.

I colored Lucy Loo 'Bobbed' with Copic markers.  I used a variety of dies from Top Dog dies and one from Paper Wishes (behind the sentiment) to construct this card.  I found the sentiment  at Pixel Scrapper.  Marisa Lerin created the Confidence Word Art series, and I used one from the set.   The papers for this card are also digital.  One is from Pixel Scrapper, and the green glittered heart paper is from Decosses' Dynamite Doodles.   The foil tape is from Close To My Heart

Check out the super awesome The East Wind Facebook group to see what the other DT members did with this wonderful digi.  There's also a challenge to enter there, and another one to enter on The East Wind blog.   Follow me, too on Instagram

Happy Easter! -- for Crafty Sentiments Designs

Happy Tuesday, and Happy Easter!  This is Holy week, if you are Christian, and a very busy one if you are the church organist.  This week, I can't keep track of if I should be at work or at church -- there's lots going on both places!

Today starts a new challenge at Crafty Sentiments Challenge Blog, and our theme is 'Any Shape'.   I went with a shaped card that's a big extreme -- it spells out the word Easter!

This card uses Crafty Sentiments Designs rubber stamp, "Rosie's Egg".  I colored Rosie's Egg with Copic markers, then fussy cut her out.

The Easter word shaped card is a cutting file from The Cutting Cafe.  The shape behind Rosie is by Sizzix.  The crinkle ribbon is from 3 Girl JAM.   Papers for this card are from Echo Park.

I hope you can join us at Crafty Sentiments Challenge blog this week for our "Any Shape" challenge.  We have great prizes, and I'd love to see what you make!

Spring Beauty -- for The Path of Positivity

It's Monday, and it's time for a bit of mid-challenge inspiration on the Path of Positivity Challenge blog.  The theme this whole month is 'Beauty'.  I think that's such a nice theme for March, with Spring starting today.

We have 2 sponsors this month, and this challenge, I am working with digital collage sheets from Luna Girl

I made this card using Tags #2 -- Bright Flowers:

I used a portion of one of the flowers, cropped it, then enlarged it, making it the focal point of this card.  The sentiments was computer generated.

Papers on this card are from Graphic 45. I used a Top Dog die, and a Spellbinders die, a We R Memory Keepers scallop corner chopper, and the butterfly sticker charm is from Art C.

Join us this month at Path of Positivity Challenge Blog for our Beauty challenge.  You have until April 3.

The Sweet Life -- for The Cutting Cafe Shop

I'm posting today for The Cutting Cafe Shop.  I'm here to tell you that "they're not just for Easter".  Stamps, I'm talking here.

I used the "Happy Easter from Your Peeps"   clear stamp set to create this:

I used two of the rabbits from the trio of bunnies, colored them with Copic markers, then fussy cut them.   The bunnies are framed with a brand new set in The Cutting Cafe, Fun With Circle Frames.

Papers and sentiment are from Doodlebugs' Spring Garden 6x6 pad, found in the Cutting Cafe Shop.  I used a Close To My Heart scallop edge punch on the bottom of this card, and a couple of enamel hearts from my stash.

I think this card will be a perfect "just because" card to give to my husband.  It's a happy, springtime card, and the "Happy Easter From Your Peeps" set worked wonderfully for it.

Easter Egg Treat Cup Card -- for The Cutting Cafe

I'm posting today for The Cutting Cafe.  I'm always excited when I get a chance to create something with the wonderful files and printables from The Cutting Cafe!  Today, the whole team is working with Easter Treat Cup files.   I made a card using the Easter Egg Treat Cup card cutting file:

I used lots of products available at The Cutting Cafe and The Cutting Cafe Shop in this adorable Easter card.  As already stated, the cutting file, Easter Egg Treat Cup Card, is one of several Easter Treat Cups available in The Cutting Cafe.  The bunny is from the clear stamp set, "Happy Easter from your Peeps", available in The Cutting Cafe Shop.    The designer paper (jelly bean pattern) is Doodlebug Designs Bunnyville 6x6 pad, also available in The Cutting Cafe Shop.  The clear yardstick that I used on the treat cup is also from The Cutting Cafe Shop.  It's the 8 1/2 x 11 clear card stock.

To finish the card, I wrapped a bit of Timeless Twine around it, filled it with chocolate eggs, and voila!  Happy Easter!

Check out The Cutting Cafe blog on March 21 to see what the rest of this talented design team made with the Easter Treat Cup card cutting files.  Leave a comment, and you could win 3 sets of your choice.  Woohoo!  Then, visit The Cutting Cafe, Be Inspired Facebook Group for more inspiration, contests and good fun.

Another Birthday? -- for Great Impressions Stamps

It's Saturday, and I'm posting today for Great Impressions Stamps.  I have a good friend who will be turning 94 in a week or so.  I try to make and send him a card each week.  He's one of my biggest fans. So, of course, when his birthday rolls around, I try to make him something really special.

Here's his card for his 94th birthday --
Front side of the card:

I used F611 Surprised Mouse and colored him with Copic markers.

Here's the other side of the flip card, using D503 Another Birthday? --

Somehow I think my friend will think that sentiment perfect for his age.  He has a great sense of humor, and I can hear his chuckle all the way across the state!

I cut this card design out on my Silhouette Cameo with a file I found in the Silhouette Design Store.  Designer papers are from Crate Paper.  Kraft paper is from Carta Bella.

I'll be back next week.  In the meantime, please enter our Bunny Hop challenge.  We want to see your Easter/Spring projects. You'll find many wonderful rubber stamps in the Great Impressions Store

I colored the 3 bunnies from Happy Easter from your Peeps with Copic markers, then fussy cut them out. There are also free image outlines available.  I stamped the sentiment (also from the Happy Easter set), then cut it out with a Paper Wishes die.  The glitter domes are from Close To My Heart.

Hippity Hoppity -- for Sasayaki Glitter Digital Stamps

It's Thursday, and it's time for a new Facebook challenge for Sasayaki Glitter Digital Stamps.  The challenges are always anything goes -- as long as you use a Sasayaki Glitter Digi

Since we're so close to Easter, I decided to go with an Easter theme:

This is Bunny on Mushroom, colored with Copic markers.  Of course, it doesn't have to be an Easter themed digi -- it could be spring, summer, fall, whatever, depending on the colors you use and the background you create.

I made this an Easter card by using an The Cutting Cafe  egg-shaped card cutting file, and the grass-shaped card cutting file..  Papers for this card -- Doodlebug Bunnyville 6x6 -- can be found in The Cutting Cafe Shop.  The sentiment, stamped several times across the bottom of this card, is also from The Cutting Cafe Shop.

I hope you can join in for our Sasayaki Glitter Facebook Challenge.  It goes for a month, and as mentioned earlier, it's anything goes.  Just use one of the many adorable Sasayaki Glitter images.  Have fun!  There's an Easter challenge going on on the challenge blog.  Enter it, too!

Happy Spring -- for Star Stampz

Happy St. Patrick's Day!  There's no Irish in me, but we're celebrating big time at the nursing home today.  Irish music, green beer, corned beef and cabbage.  Lots of wearin' of the green.  Great fun!!

Today is also the start of a new challenge at Star Stampz Challenge blog.  Our theme for the next 2 weeks is "think spring.".  I'm really liking this, as we've had 2 days of rain that is now turning to snow.  I'm ready for some warm spring sunshine!

This lovely spring image is Star Stampz "Spring Flower",  found in the Etsy Store

I colored Spring Flower with Copic markers, then used a variety of dies from Ecstasy Crafts (image and directly behind it) and Spellbinders (card base and matching layer).  Papers for this card are digital -- Perfect Petals by Michele R Designs. The crinkle ribbon is from 3 Girl JAM.

It's Thursday, and time for a new challenge at the Julia Spiri Challenge Blog.  Our theme is always anything goes with an optional twist.  This time, the twist is 'Paris'.  Julia recently released some incredible Paris themed digis you can find in the Etsy Shop.

I've always wanted to go to Paris.  It's on my bucket list.  While making this card, I was there in my dreams, walking my dog...

I used Promenade in Paris on this card.  I liked that it was an entire scene, or I could have used portions of the digi, if I had chosen to.  I colored Promenade in Paris with Copic markers.  I used papers from Echo Park.  The Eiffel Tower paper is a digi paper I found at Pixel Scrapper.  Dies are from Die-namics and Spellbinders.  Crinkle ribbon is from 3 Girl JAM.

I hope you join us for our Anything Goes with an optional Paris-themed challenge at Julia Spiri's challenge blog.  It will run for the next 2 weeks.  Check out the Stamps by Julia Spiri Facebook Group, too -- there's lots of inspiration there!

Sweet Friend - for Coloring Without Boundaries

I'm posting today for Coloring Without Boundaries, using a Lacy Sunshine image, from the incredibly talented Heather Valentin.  Hang tight, it comes with a tutorial, so it's quite picture heavy.

First, the finished project, using Woodland Wisp 'Wispy':

I colored Woodland Wisp "Wispy" with Copic markers, and here is how I did it.

First, skin and hair.  I wanted her skin to be very fair, since I was making her a redhead.
Skin tone colors used were: E000, E00, E21, E34, R20, lips R21, R22
Hair -- YR14, YR27, E99

I used my favorite yellow combination on the flower.  Here's a step-by-step of the flower:

Y11 -- I start with the lightest color to saturate the area.

E18 -- then, I switch to the darkest color, using just a bit for shading.

E15 -- I add in the next darkest color, adding more shading.

Y17 -- here comes the darkest yellow shade.  I use quite a bit of this.

Y15 -- Here's the final hello, the midtone. I colored the middle of the flower in this step, too.

Now, it's time to go over the whole flower again with Y11, blending it all thoroughly.   Flower completed, and several more flowers on her shoulders are colored also.

All that's left is her dress, hair ribbons, and the ground she is standing on...

Flower stem -- G20, G21, G24, G28
Dress ruffle -- G20, G21, G82, G94, G99
Dress & Hair ribbons -- B12, B24, B28, B29, B99
Scarf -- R22, R24, R27, R29, R39, R59
Grass -- YG03, YG11, YG13, YG17
Flowers in grass -- YR12, YR14

Here she is, made into a card:

Papers are from My Mind's Eye, oval die is from Die-namics.  SVG cutting file for the card is from Pretty Paper Pretty Ribbons, crinkle ribbon is from 3 Girl JAM.

Follow the Coloring Without Boundaries blog each day for fantastic tips and tutorials.  Enter the challenge, too! You'll find more inspiration and fun in the Coloring Without Boundaries Facebook Group.

I used Oddball Art Stamps image #194, Newsprint Flower, on this card, reproducing it a few times to create this CAS card:

The rainbow-colored background paper is a digi paper, found at Pixel Scrapper.  The sentiment is from Close To My Heart.  The glitter bling is from Prima Marketing.
